ResumeHelper (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a free tool that analyzes resume and job-posting compatibility using artificial intelligence. We are committed to handling any data you share with care, minimizing what we collect, and being transparent about how it is used.
2. Information We Collect
When you use ResumeHelper you may provide:
- Resume content — uploaded as a PDF/DOCX file or pasted as plain text.
- Job posting content — pasted text or a URL you supply.
We do not require you to create an account and do not intentionally collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information.
3. PII Redaction
Before resume content is stored, we apply an automated process intended to detect and remove personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, contact details, and addresses. As with any automated process, results may vary. We recommend avoiding the submission of highly sensitive documents unrelated to your professional history.
4. How We Use Your Data
The anonymized content we retain may be used to:
- Deliver the ATS analysis result back to you during your session.
- Monitor service quality and identify systemic issues.
- Improve the accuracy and relevance of our AI models and scoring logic over time.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
5. Data Retention
Anonymized submission data may be retained for a period of time to support ongoing service quality and improvement efforts. If you have questions about your submission, you may contact us (see Section 8).
6. Cookies & Tracking
ResumeHelper does not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics scripts, or advertising pixels. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamp) may be retained by our hosting provider (Vercel) in accordance with their own privacy policy.
7. Third-Party Services
Resume analysis is performed via the OpenAI API. Content you submit is processed by OpenAI subject to their privacy policy. We have opted out of data training with our API usage where available. Our application is hosted on Vercel.
